The Sports Club was formed in the mid sixties with a 200 Club being the main fundraiser and the brick building was constructed using mainly local skilld members in 1971.
With the success of the social section an extension was added in 1993 and afurter addition in 1998.
The final stage was completed in August 2003 and had in part been funded by SODC and The Football Foundation.
The first recorded reference to Tetsworth Cricket Club appeared in the Thame Gazette in 1857 with a report of a game between members of the South Oxfordshire Club and Deddington
This would prove that cricket has been played for one hundred and fifty years but probably an additional twenty years prior.
A poster advertising a match between Tetsworth United and Wycombe Amateurs on 17th June 1861 was found in the Swan stating that wickets were being pitched at Half-past Ten o’Clock precisely
Photographs are in existence, taken at the turn of the century, showing both Ladies and Gentlemen’s Cricket teams.
The club commenced playing competitive cricket in the Wyfold League, which was based around Thame and Aylesbury and then joined the Mid Bucks League, based in High Wycombe in 1962.
With the deteriorating standards a decision was made to join the Oxfordshire Cricket Association in 1975 and there they have remained.
There has always been a Football Section and they have played in various locations around the village and with the development of the Green in the early seventies they are now situated on the east side of the Green
The current activities now are:~ Ladies and Mens Darts, Pool, Cricket, Football and regular Saturday Evening entertainment.
